Prompt: Write about a dream that felt real.

 I always have extremely vivid dreams that could win awards as movies. All of them feel real but one that I specifically remember is when lakeside turned into a mall. It was a huge mall and everyone from lakeside was there. All the teachers were in their relaxing clothes and hanging out with each other. It was wild! Everyone was just shopping and enjoying their self. It was really interesting to see everyone in a different context than school. In school everyone is sad, ready to go home, follow the rules, and there's a big difference in teachers and students, while at the mall you look around and see teachers and students is all equal, everyone is more relaxed, and happy.

  Prompt: Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples. I have realized while in this course, that there is a lot of writing and going in depth of our cultures. I did not expect to see everyone in class pretty vulnerable with the different questions asked. My strengths are definitely writing, I enjoy it. A weakness would for sure be the time.   Prompt : Reflect on how your cultural heritage shapes your daily expectations, inspired by "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid. My cultural heritage leads to many expectations, not only from me but of me as well. Many people expect me to be this perfect latina girl. Like I should have all the curves the movie stars do. From my home It is the complete opposite, they expect me to be a Heaven sent daughter. To have the best grades and clean until I can”t anymore. I can relate to “Girl” because there is another person criticizing every move she makes, telling her what she can and cannot be. I too feel that pressure. The advice coming from her mom sounds far too harsh, I understand. My mom talks that way as well, not in a judgeful manner, more so of a helpful one.
